Our acrylic resin is a fast curing, transparent two-component system with a slightly yellowish tint. Aka-Clear-2 consists of an acrylic powder and an acrylic liquid that cures in 8 minutes. When mixing Aka-Clear-2 Powder with Aka-Clear-2 Liquid you get completely clear, bubble-free mounts without having to use a pressure pot. Due to complete visibility of the sample in the mount, Aka-Clear-2 is ideal for failure analysis and in the preparation of electronic components. A short curing time is often necessary in production environments where fast turnaround times are required. In this case, Aka-Clear-2 is superior to both cold mounting epoxy resins and hot mounting resins.

How important is the mixing ratio with acrylic resins?
Acrylic resins, including Aka-Clear-2 cure in a catalytic process. Therefore it is not necessary to have very precise amounts of powder and liquid.
Sometimes the surface of my mount is sticky after curing, what is the cause?
Very often the reason is a chemical reaction of the mounting resin with air. If you cover your mount e.g. with a piece of paper or a small lid this can be avoided.
Can I mount large batches of samples with Aka-Clear-2?
The curing time, and such the pot life of acrylic resins is quite short. Therefore it is recommended to mix smaller batches of resin to avoid that curing already starts while pouring the resin into the mounting cup.
