Our unique Aka-Rhaco is a thin steel disc with a soft polymer coating that can be used with self-adhesive polishing cloths. Without removing the liner from the polishing cloth it can be attached to an Aka-Rhaco disc. When the polishing cloth is worn, it can easily be replaced with a new one. Instead of disposing of a metal backed polishing cloth every time it is worn, a self-adhesive polishing cloth can be used on Aka-Rhaco. This provides the possibility of saving cost and acting more sustainable by not having to dispose of a steel disc for every polishing cloth.
Aka-Ronan is a steel disc with a 3D-polymer coating. It is used to adapt self-adhesive polishing cloths or other self-adhesive grinding discs for use on magnetic support discs. Remove the liner and attach the self-adhesive product to the surface of Aka-Ronan. Due to the unique 3D surface, air pockets are avoided and the polymer surface allows for easy removal of the cloths once they are worn out. Aka-Ronan can be used over and over again.

How do I use self-adhesive polishing cloths on Aka-Rhaco?
Self-adhesive polishing cloths are normally glued directly onto a preparation disc. This requires a separate preparation disc for each polishing cloth. As Aka-Rhaco can be used on a magnetic support disc, only this one disc is needed and one Aka-Rhaco can be replaced with another to change from one polishing cloth to another. When a self-adhesive polishing cloth is used on an Aka-Rhaco the cloth is simply placed on the adhesive coating of Aka-Rhaco without removing the liner from the cloth first. This makes it very easy to remove the cloth again when it is worn and also represents a much more economic and sustainable solution as only the cloth is discarded after use, not the steel plate.
What is the difference between Aka-Rhaco and Aka-Ronan?
Aka-Ronan is an adapter disc with a 3-dimensional surface. Self-adhesive polishing cloths are glued directly onto the surface of Aka-Ronan. The 3-dimensional surface makes it easy to attach a cloth without trapping air bubbles under the cloth and it is also easy to remove the cloth again.
Aka-Rhaco has a sticky surface with high adhesion. Here the cloths are attached simply by placing them on the sticky surface without removing the liner from the cloth first. It is even easier to remove a cloth from Aka-Rhaco than from Aka-Ronan, and the Aka-Rhaco can also be used to safely hold grinding papers.
