Available in grit sizes P80-P4000
Our high-quality grinding paper Rhaco Grit can be used for all types of materials. However, it is the optimal choice for grinding of soft and ductile materials. Rhaco Grit provides a long lifetime in addition to good planeness and edge retention. Contrary to most other commercially available grinding papers that are SiC based, Rhaco Grit P80-P800 is based on Al2O3 which means that the lifetime is longer and the material removal higher than regular SiC paper.
We recommend grit sizes P80-P320 for plane grinding and grit sizes P500-P4000 for fine grinding.

When used with our unique Aka-Rhaco, Rhaco Grit can substitute expensive PSA or foil backed grinding papers. Aka-Rhaco is a thin steel disc with a soft polymer coating that safely adheres grinding paper to the disc. Despite the strong holding power, papers can be removed and exchanged easily. Aka-Rhaco lasts for up to 1000 applications and is optimised to be used with Rhaco Grit grinding paper, but can be used with most plain-backed grinding papers.

Grinding paper still has its advantages for very soft and ductile materials. As the paper is relatively soft, and the abrasive grains do not stick too far out, a comparatively gentle material removal takes place. This is an advantage for materials like soft aluminium and copper and their alloys.
SiC is the most widely used abrasive for grinding papers in all grit sizes. For soft and ductile materials this is the perfect choice but for steels Al2O3 is the premium abrasive. Therefore we use Al2O3 for the coarse grit sizes and SiC for the finer grit sizes that are used for the softer materials.
Rhaco Grit P80–320 are based on Al2O3 and outlasts SiC 2-3 times.
Plain backed grinding papers can be used on the Aka-Rhaco adhesive disc for easy exchange.
