Our high-quality grinding paper Rhaco Grit can be used for fine grinding all types of materials. However, it is the optimal choice for fine grinding of soft and ductile materials - sometimes referred to as soft grinding. Rhaco Grit provides a long lifetime together with good planeness and edge retention. Rhaco Grit provides great edge retention and planeness in the grit sizes P400-P1200 because they are produced on a thin, flat paper with unidirectional structure.
When used with our unique Aka-Rhaco, Rhaco Grit can replace expensive PSA or foil backed grinding papers. Aka-Rhaco is a thin steel disc with a soft polymer coating to hold grinding paper. Aka-Rhaco makes it very easy to change grinding papers when worn and lasts for up to 1000 applications. Aka-Rhaco is optimised to be used with Rhaco Grit, but can also be used with most other plain-backed grinding papers.

Different grades of paper, i.e. different thicknesses, are available for grinding paper. In general, the thicker the paper the softer the paper, and that results in more unplane samples. Therefore we have decided to use a thinner grade of paper for the finer # sizes of Rhaco Grit grinding paper from #500 – #1200. This results in samples with a better planeness compared to traditional grinding papers.
