May 2006 - Aka-Poly and DiaDoublo now also in water-free versions.
Preparation of specimens with water sensitive phases has so far been limited to manual preparation using Aka-Spray or Aka-Paste.
The increased demands on Steel Plants to include analyses for water sensitive phases triggered us to develop a series of water-free suspensions and DiaDoublo usable in automated equipment.
Based on a mix of glycols these products are non-toxic and non-flammable. A much reduced impact on our environtment compared to ethanol or oil based alternatives. The glycol mix is very close to what is used in Aka-Paste.
May 2006 - Aka-Mono+, even faster preparation.
When out-put is king, increased removal rates become very important. To increase the removal rate significantly we developed a high concentrated mono diamond suspension Aka-Mono+ and a high removal lubricant Aka-Lube Clear+. In combination they push preparation time to an absolute minimum.
For example the usual 3 step method for Steel; grinding stone, Aka-Allegran 9 µm and Aka-Pluran 3 µm can be done with just 3 min. on the Allegran and Pluran steps starting from an 80 grit stone.
The products have been developed in cooperation with a Swedish Steel Plant. Using the usual combination of one floor grinder with #80 stone and two floor polishers for fine-grinding and polishing they where able to reduce their preparation times with 30% on each preparation step.
January 2006 - Cold embedding, simple yet flexible range.
We have developed a range of epoxy based cold embedding materials. Resin and hardeners are sold seperately this way adding a new feature is just a matter of buying another hardener.
Aka-Cure, Quick. Cures in 30 min @80°C. Outstanding mechanical and chemical properties
Aka-Cure, Slow. Cures in 8 - 24 hours @20°C. Long pot-life og low peak temperature makes it suitable for both impregnation and heat sensitive specimens.
Aka-Resin. Clear epoxy resin. Low viscosity and low surface tension. Ideal for all types of specimens.
January 2006 - Aka-Clean, Waterbased cleaning liquid.
Aka-Clean effectivly dissolves any swarf film and simplefies cleaning your samples between preparation steps. Simply spray on and wash off.
